As some of you may have noticed Ogaryo (Gary) has been busy arranging a sponsored bike ride between MDL Marinas at Penton Hook (start) and Ocean Village (finish) ~68 miles up hill and down dale.

As part of this it is intended to convene another Beer & Natter later the same evening - 6th June 2015

Aim of the group of riders is to raise £5,000 for British Heart Foundation, and if we can boost the pot from the evening get together then so much the better, but the key idea is simply an ideal opportunity to get together mid season - not just to raise the legs of those attending.

So can I please have ...

1 Names of those interested in attending.
2 Preference for Food & Drinks or Drinks only (perhaps a small buffet)
3 Ideas for a location.

The ride ends at Ocean Village mid-late afternoon, but OV is a bit thin for suitable venues.

The Old Ship at Lower Swanwick has proven popular for recent previous Natter gatherings, but also possible could be Hamble Point or Mercury Marina, or perhaps closer to Ocean Village.

Thanks Guys - and remember the pot still needs some filling for the ride itself.

Venue TBA

Ocean village has at least three suitable venues and a big marina to take anyone coming by Water. It also means those of us riding don't need to chase around the place after as there's a good chance I will need oxygen anyway.

Ill come. How about yacht club as venue?

Sounds like a great idea. I would also suggest OV. I can't imagine riders will want to go chasing round the country. We should be led by them.

Henry :)

I don't think many of us will be in much shape to chase anything after the ride H. As stated earlier, the key will be rehydrating. Food less of an issue for me. I might be looking for a handy berth for the night, unless International Rescue (Lady Rafiki) can be persuaded to venture sarf with some wheels.

UPDATE ON THE BEER & NATTER
After the Charity ride Penton Hook to Ocean Village

Venue

MDL have kindly offered to lay on a BBQ for the riders and their kin at the end of the ride. Details of timings for this are not yet finalised, but thank to MDL for this kind gesture.

If any one is around OV early I am sure you will be welcome to join us, and any one available to form the welcome party will be gladly appreciated.

For the Beer & Natter Gathering Mark (Elessar) has arranged for us to gather at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club also in Ocean Village, and for now I am assuming this will be from around 7.30 PM.

RSYC can I understand offer us a Carvery or A La Carte options, subject to numbers.

There is a list of likely attendees in the first post to this thread - can I ask anyone who wants to join us and in particular to eat lets me know so we can co-ordinate with RSYC. If anyone can't make it just let me know please.

All are most welcome, and there will be a raffle in support of the primary cause for the Bike Ride - British Heart Foundation. We hope you can all help us maximise the fund raising as well as having a damn good time.

Will they let the likes of me in?

Yes, very much so. They let me in and I'm sure you would be very welcome.

You don't need an introduction, or an interview, or anything else as there is a nice and easy 1st year membership. Talk to Maggie in the office and she will tell you all about it.

Oh and there are as many mobos as raggies and we all get on and play nice.

And there is both Ov and gins on Beaulieu which I'm sure Willow and Archie would love.

Good morning B and N type people :) I am on Bizzy Bee for the first time in a month and browsing the forum (clearly) which has got me thinking about getting together with old friends and hopefully some new. Thought I'd mention that whilst this beer and natter is associated with the YBW bike ride it is very much an excuse (as if we need one) to get boaty folk together. With the exception of the raffle and auction there is absolutely no expectation of charitable donations, so, if you fancy coming along for an informal natter and a few beers with like minded folk, please pop your name down and we'll look forward to seeing you on the 6th June. Hope to see you there.

Cheers Gary
