At some point within the next 48 hours our new boat should reach the end of the production line in Germany. :D

I am hoping that it will be on a lorry heading for the docks on its way to the UK and then Swanwick Marina before the end of the week. :D:D

If anyone around Southampton at some point in the coming few days sees a Bavaria 34 Sport on a lorry being stalked by an excited bloke in a Smart car - that will be me and our new boat........:D:D:D

Handover hopefully by the end of the month. :D:D:D:D

Weeks holiday booked in early Feb. :D:D:D:D:D

Sounds great Paul. What pushed you to the Bav over the SC35? I know the Bav is not quite so expensive, and interested to hear what other alternatives you considered?

To answer the questions:

She will live at Swanwick for the year with a possible move back to Universal at some point.

Why the Bav? Well it is our third Bavaria, the other two being a 30ft and a 42ft yacht. We enjoy a great relationship with Steve Gunn the sales rep who has become more of a friend than a rep. Looked at an SC35 but we wanted a sports top rather than a hard top, looked at a 38 Targa and loved it but it sold before we were ready to move, looked at two other 38 Targa's and never got the same warmed up feeling about them.

But I guess the real reason we bought a Bavaria is that Steve somehow manages to sell us a new boat every two years if we want one or not..........

Which is really impressive seeing that I am a tight-arsed Cornishman.

Rest assured camera is poised ready to supply nautically starved forum members

Interesting. Shows the value of a good and trusting relationship with the dealer.

I am bound to agree but would stress that Steve is also respectful of the relationship and has taken the time to recognise and deliver against the things that we value.

Don't get me wrong, the relationship is certainly not always champagne and roses but we keep coming back so they must be doing something right.

At this moment in time he is already sowing the seeds for the next one and we haven't yet paid for this one. Class act.........

She looks lovely Paul. Have you named her yet? Oh and hope the weathers kind in Feb for you.
Lisa

She will be called Hunros, the name moves with us each time so to help us identify which one we are talking about they all have nicknames:

30 footer = Baby Hunros
42 footer = Big Hunros
34 Sport = Speedy Hunros

We have missed being afloat so much that having good weather in Feb will just be a bonus although importantly, it would allow our first ever wake photo! :D
