Well he doesn’t have to waste his time starting the engine or answering silly questions like where is the fuel tank or can the floor come up to see the keel bolt heads…..
Yes...but ‘posponing’ implies he’s only been let off for now....and sooner or later you are going to bug him

What is the format for looking at a bot then?
For a bot...I don’t know....for a boat, call the owner at the most inconvenient time....while he’s at work or in the evening during his dinner or Match of the Day
Then ask as many noobie questions that you can learn from this forum....for example, can this boat be coded ?....how does the VAT work if I export it to England ?....does it have the best anchor for where I live ?

To avoid being one of those I have postponed a viewing of a little yacht tomorrow not to cause inconvenience to the seller .

There are two flaws in your cunning plan.

The first is blindingly obvious.

The second is that without an ongoing parade of boats you are considering, there'll be nothing for us to discuss. The forum will soon be empty, with just the eerie sound of the wind whistling through, driving the tumbleweed along.

And in the run up to Christmas, too! Think of us poor souls, sitting round, drumming our fingers, having to watch endless repeats of old Christmas shows instead of dispensing our pearls of wisdom on the forum about the particular boats and the progress of your ongoing quest.

Have heart, man. Don't you feel an obligation to give something back to the community that has given you so much? (Grief, for example.) 😁

Well thanks for your vote of err something.Whatthe forum doesn’t take into account is that I am working on the coal face of cheap Spanish boats née Galician cheap boats. Its all very well to look through the eyes of a man who is decisive and err wealthy.I see aboat on the net and immediately think that’s the one forgetting it was built in 1976 of dubious French design and built but err dubious Spanish laminators,we are not talking Camper and a Nicholson although there is one but it has a teak deck and you know what that means.I don’t have a panorama of westerly s to peruse oh that it was so easy.On Milanuncios there are offers for very nice boat over 150,000 euros but my selection comes later under 10,000 euros the latest to catch my eye a Puma 24 which on the face of it looks good it even has widths side decks! But to avoid the wrath of forum sticklers I have desisted of late from relating my experience in the boat buying world.

Of course the other little problem there are no reliable yacht surveyors that I know of.Thereare now some agents who sort of offer a modicum of assurance that your life savings is not going to be wasted.Your on your own regarding engines and owners have minimal idea about their boat and are surprised someone might want to know where the fuel tank is for example.Hence my hesitation in this minefield……would that it was a nice Twister,I would give my right arm!
The Puma 24 Ihave actually sailed,it has side decks a nice bit of tumblehome probably the downside is its age and its rig a massive Genoa and small main but in tortilla sailing it’s off wind anywayswilling cheap red and sharing a plate of tortilla.

Just keep on regaling us with tales of your yacht hunt....I recall that years ago there was another forumite who took forever to decide....then, when everyone was at the point of attacking him with pitchforks, he bought a boat !.....so anything is possible 🤔😳

Have you ever done the arithmetic of buying a boat in England and getting it shipped down to you ?

Yes ,I seem to recall it was a non starter for various reasons .The simplest way is to buy here in Galicia with a Spanish flag avoids any problems,I am sure something will turn up soon ……or it’s back to the garden!
