beds

douvet with a sheet over on the bed bottom, to soften the bed, and douvet on the top in covers. Mind its a daft round boat bed, can't unfortunately get round that.

We use the bow cabin as 2 singles as its easier to get out without it made as a double,

we have 2 single sleeping bags which we put ontop of the upholstery, then a single cotton fitted sheet over each of the bunks, with a single cotton flat sheet ontop of each and a 10.5 tog single duvet ontop.

In hot weather we may put the duvet on the bottom and use the sleeping bags as duvets as they are quite thin.

I must be a proper wuss. Our 5'3" island bed has a 6" mattress, 2" luxury foam mattress topper, cotton sheets and a choice of two different weight duvets in cotton covers (can't abide satin!). OTT perhaps but I don't believe in being less comfortable on-board than we would be at home especially as we have spent so much time on the boat.

We have a memory foam matress topper on top of the existing matress, then a sheet covering the two (oh almost forgot the electric blanket goes under the sheet). Then we have a duvet and a fleece blanket. No point in being cold!!!

In the summer we get rid of the electric blanket and more often than not just sleep under the fleece blanket.

A bottom fitted sheet over the bed, and a double sleeping bag on top with, at this time of year, 3 extra blankets on top.

As I said to SWMBO, it's a 3 season sleeping bag, but we're in the 4th season at the moment! It was minus 6 outside on Saturday night, we woke up late on Sunday morning because the boat was covered in 2 inches of snow and it had covered the hatches and windows, making the inside of the boat dark!

Funny, thats what woke us up on sunday as well, the fact that is was gone eight o clock and still dark, informed us what the weather was playing at. Neither of us would get out of bed to turn the heating on though!!! Thats the only trouble with keeping the electric blanket on over night.

Woke up to the boat coated in snow, ice on the insides of the windows where the bits of condensation had frozen and a cold bathroom. Bring on summer.

Silk PJ's usually the red ones with black silk sheets , on a water bed of course !

staying in bed on port tack is a bitch as theres very little friction between the silk sheets and the silk PJ's and sea sickness is a problem even in the marina !

Any more personal questions honey ?
