Beautiful day ! (and you can see my office here)

Back in my birthplace for a couple of days and are overlooking a mirror sea, looking into the harbour (towards the webcam).... A drill rig just got moored up to the left our offices (Bideford Dolphin), just across the bay. They turned the thing just in front of us and the tugs were just metres from our access road. great to watch. (our offices are top left in the picture from the webcam).

Will go boating into the fjords later today, or tomorrow in a friends Laguna 11.5m just to re-live some of the memories of the past.... Just wanted to share this scene with you all and to send a greeting from my home town...... and it makes me wonder, "why did I leave this place ?".... then I remember something about "career opportunities etc..." and it makes these visits more enjoyable as I can afford some of the nicer things in life.
Looking out here, I am getting more certain that I will buy a boat soon and keep it here for a couple of years to use when I visit our operation in Norway, and for the some of my vacations... Perhaps charter the boat to like minded people ???
Well, lunch time now and will be off......... Have a nice day ! I know I will...

Yes it is here too, I'm north of you up in Ålesund. I'm looking down the fjord to the west (no oil rigs) just blue sky and blue sea.
Can it get any better? -perhaps only warmer!

Ålesund

Went boating northwards one year during a three week summer vacation, and managed to get as far as Ålesund. Very nice scenery and beautiful contrast between the mountains and the fjords. The mountains are more rugged up there when compared with the southern parts of the country, but makes for interesting scenery. Cold here today as well (no where approaching Ålesund), but still about minus 3 C.
