Did anyone go? What did you buy?

It was our first time and found it great fun (if a bit of a trek from bristol). Ended up spending lots but felt we got some bargains including half price anchor chain.

Will definately go again next year (taking a trolley with us). I can imagine if you are restoring a boat it would be an invaluable source of parts

We bought a few bits and pieces including those little copper washers that always fall off fuel pipes into the bilge and some salvaged fishing weights for next to nothing. Great fun wandering around and amazing to see what people buy. One person's tat is another's treasure. Food the usual rip off prices though.

I thought it was pretty quiet but did manage to get rid of some of my excess stuff. Good for selling things at a few quid but no-one seemed to interested in the items over £10. I'm sure Montagu/Beaulieu did rather wel out of it though.
IMHO, selling on eBay is much easier and get's better prices.

And I was amazed that somebody nicked something off my stall - luckily it was crap that i was going to put in the skip anyway!!! Who, what, why would someone nick an old US propane cylinder??? Saved me having to walk it to the skip - so I should thank them.

I got the impression that a good few of the traders must get their stock from fishing in marina skips!

I was a little dissapointed - it was a 2 hour drive each way & i had a list of 3 main things i wanted. I didnt find any of them. When i did find stuff it was more expensive than the chandlers or ebay & was on the chandler stands. Most of the private stands were well used tat.

I wanted snap davit kits, propellors & boat horns. Left with cleaning solutions & gloves.

However it was overall a very nice day out - i had a good look around every stand.... my wife found some 10 stands selling shoes or clothes & we enjoyed the motor museum & park too.

If i hadnt lost my digital camera on the green monorail, it would of been a great day.
