Others have 'protested their outrage' at the £1 handling or booking fee levied on Advance Bookings of tickets for the Beaulieu BJ, as advertised in the hallowed pages of PBO Magazine.

It would seem that, from today, that charge has become illegal. See 'ere.... http://tinyurl.com/czqy2gc

So can we look forward to seeing My Lord Montague of Beaulieu and the shy 'n retiring Editor appearing before Southampton Magistrates anytime soon...?

Don't think it is the same thing. This refers to charging for credit card bookings where the fee was "excessive".

Indeed - particularly aimed at budget airlines where they pretended the fee was optional by also offering a free means of payment but one so obscure that nobody could actually use it.

I guess on that basis no-one should ever buy anything second-hand?. Nor anything new on EBAY from a private seller?. And who knows where that VAT registered seller got his stock from?

Maybe, but I think it was no conincidence that the weekend a load of expensive block disappeared off my last boat was the same weekend as the local boat jumble
