Video of stranded (literally!) shrimper (non-Cornish version😄) being rescued.

Translation of video poster's explanation:
'After lying on the beach at Zandvoort for three and a half weeks, the shrimp cutter IJM-22 "Black Jack" from IJmuiden was finally refloated with the help of the large tugboat Anteos from Schevingen and excavators from Loon op Zand.

This was the fourth rescue attempt.

However, it will be some time before the cutter can be put back into service because, among other things, equipment has been severely damaged and needs to be replaced. To this end, the skipper's children have set up a fundraising campaign: https://www.doneeractie.nl/help-de-ge... '

Our local beach has seen more than its fair share of yachts beaching....and quite often you see the owner with a spade in hand trying to dig their boat out.....a daunting task

very long tow rope. She seems to be trailing lines from each quarter too... is that to keep her square to the waves?

It seemed to be to try to keep her in the channel they had dug while the tide and/or waves were trying to take her off to one side.

I imagine the very long tow was necessary to give the tug adequate depth and keep it out of the surf.

(I noticed they'd also had to build up a track above beach level either side of the channel so that the diggers could access the channel as the tide came in.)
