Just out of interest, don't you have an anchor?

Re: Good point

Holding is excellent in Studland. We've overnighted ther in all sorts.

Yes i do have An anchor which i will use if not too windy, but a bouy is always better imho, last time I was in Studland we sat anchored for most of the day and after about 6 hours happily secure we started to drift so a bouy would be preferable.

Funny how we have our own preferences, I prefer to anchor because I know the condition of my equipment (the anchor..!) as I look after it, how much confidence do you have in the ground tackle of a mooring bouy? blind faith?

I always drag the anchor at Studland.

If you are going to be there for the duration, pick up one of the hotel moorings (they don't police them).

Even if they are all taken up you could pinch one later in the evening when everyone goes home for tea.

Re: Have to disagree

Right in the corner, by the Banks Arms bouy, the holding's superb. We rode out an Easterly F4-5 one night there, and never moved an inch (apart from up and down a lot)

Does it matter? You can spit on the bouys from the beach, just about...

Your wearing those rose tinted glasses again, or beer glasses, they're yellow!

We're both wrong, Lisa just phoned the Bankes. Apparently they are Orange. I'll split the difference with you!
