sorry if this is a bit old, but what with the season underway, I ve started looking at the weather pages again. I see they now have a great link,"coast and sea", that then has shipping forecast, inshore, coastal,atlantic pressure charts, tides, coastguard reports, surf reports... really excellent.

They seem to be capturing the Navtex output too (including the 3 day summary, which is useful).

Would you write to them and thank them for that. Seriously. I wrote them a long letter when they first introduced the coast and sea service and requested that they include navtex information.

It is nice they listened to their customers, I would like them to realise how useful the information they present is to us.

I actually passed on my thanks via a colleague who works there but you're right, writing to them would probably drive home the message. Glad you did in the first place, if thats what motivated them.

Agreed, although todays forecast for visibility in Lyme Bay was not that useful - "moderate or good, maybe poor"!
