I regularly view and print the BBC coastal forecast for the Thames Estuary. Recently the format has been changed, and it will no longer print from internet explorer 9. I tried subitting an email about the problem from the beeb's website (twice), which simply resulted in an automated reply but no action. Anyone else having this problem?

Ditto. Works in Chrome, but no longer in IE9. There used to be a "print" button on the site, but that has gone now as part of the new format. Sadly not an improvement!

There are about 50 other reasons why you should ditch I.E. and opt for another browser...

Yawn. Heard it all before. The fact is that most web sites display best in IE, being the most compliant browser, that is what they are initially designed for.

Just tried this site with IE9, it worked fine. The page is not ideal for printing, so I selected the text I wanted, Right Click | Print Preview, select "As selected on screen" in the middle drop-down box, the click the Print button. Result is here.

IE is NOT standards compliant; it is easily the least compliant browser out there.

An awful lot of web-sites are designed for Mozilla Firefox, being a browser that is very compliant with W3C standards. However, some web-sites ARE designed for IE - and they tend not to work well on browsers that are compliant with W3C standards.

Businesses that create web-sites that only work on IE lose my business, as IE isn't even an option on the machine I'm writing this on. IE only works on Windows; I'm on Linux! And the same goes for Mac, iPad and Android machines.

Yawn?

Sorry, you're post is utter nonsense.

At least I can spell. ;)

The thread is drifting from the original question, I have shown that the site works fine in IE9, so no need to install another browser. Fine if you know what you are doing and choose to do so, not because some geek says so.

I am that geek and I do know what I'm doing.

I could have paid a little more attention to my grammar though.:D

:D

I was worried you might take offence, but we geeks generally have a sense of humour.

Sorry if I went on the offensive, but I've seen the results of recommendations. My mate told me that his browser was a bit slow, see attached

To the OP, I suggest disabling all Add-Ons in IE9, then turn the ones you want back on one at a time.

Selecting text in IE9, then printing selected worked. Many thanks. Shame the BBC did away with the print button though.
