I enjoy cruising with other boats/crews and was wandering weather there was an owners club/assocition for Bayliner in the UK? Until 2001 most of my boating was done on a Moody 376, and the MOA were superb, with events, technical help etc?

I know there are a large number of Bayliners floating around so a club of one sort or another seems like a good idea!

Is it a class thing, pedigree, or the wish not to breed mongrel boats, which makes to want to congregate only with boats of the same species. The rest of us just seem to herd together in a comprehence school type of way, with out fear of segragation, or racial discrimination... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I dont mind cruising with other types of boat at all - in fact, the majority of the time it is very refreshing. That said, I would find a jaunt with a group of large Sunseeker/Princess/Fairline boats a little intimidating.

Owners groups are usefull for technical quieries, problem solving ideas and general hints though. Asking genrally on here the question about marine gas on a mercruiser MPI has generated only a handful of responses as the mercruiser engines are not as widley used here as in the US. As all petrol Bayliner have them fitted, and owners club may be a more focused resource - thats all.

I think what Ian means is that there are UK contributors on there. They are generally a friendly and helpful bunch but now and again the cultural differences do stand out - look at the section called the Dock Walk!

I don't contribute much and when I do its always to ask a question and I've never failed to get a decent answer. I only use the General Topics and Technical sections

Not as much fun as this site though, and we've still got the Headmistress who won't contribute on there any more - their loss.

Ok, for Jez Martyn Ian and any others, I have just set up a UK Bayliner Owners group on yahoo for you if you're interested, it can be found here;
http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/baylinerboats/

I set up one of these just over a month ago for any Rinker owners and now i have 24 members and of which a couple them are Dealers and we are beginning to get some good interesting posts, but it will take time to establish.

If you wish to use it, and i know i am not a Bayliner owner, then please do, and i would be very happy to make anyone of you the Moderator for the group.

Just trying to help.

Alistair.

Look, but whatever you do, don't criticise the American government or President there.

Been there, done it, got banned.
