Have really took a fancy to a Bayliner 2556. Budget will be around 10k which I know is not really enough but there are 1 or 2 about sub 10k although there petrol but I'm sure something will pop up at sometime. Wouldn't mind if it needed a small bit of work. It ticks every box on my list - 2+ berths, galley, seating, toilet, space for fishing, comfort - plus the fly bridge is a bonus.

So what alternatives would they be?

Any of the generic little Sportcruisers really, most were made by the same group, all are reasonable boats, if not held in high esteem by the Fairline/Princess etc owners...

Does look nice, I wonder what speed it achieves with a single 220hp? Possibly low 20's with maybe an 18-20 knot cruise. Says it's open to offers, so could be a real bargain for someone.

Back in the day when I had my 2556 (5.7 Merc,Alpha drive) she would sit on top quite happily at 16knot and max out at 27knot....clean bottom drive and prop....
Would expect similar from this one if not too heavy with fuel water and junk onboard.
