Has anyone delivered their boat going the long way round, ie from port to port rather than straight across? The boat I am taking has'nt got the range to go across unless I travel at 9 knots, going the coast route we could maintain 25 knots with a safe range of 250 miles. Guess I will have to get the charts out!

We brought our Princess 435 from London down to the Med the long way - it was our retirement project. We are not wild about long passages, so did Biscay via:
La Rochelle, Port Medoc, Arcachon, Cap Breton, Zumaya, Getxo (Bilbao), Santander, Gijon, La Coruna etc etc.
Let me know if you'd like more info.

Agree with Plan B it must have been much more interesting hoping alone the coast

If you I had the range to go straight across twould be tedious.

I have done the trip straight across at 25 knots on another boat obviously had the range. This time the range is 250 nm so looking at the Coastal route, unless I travel between 9 and 15 knots which will take 37 hours. The Coastal way will probably take an extra day but alot more fuel as need to get to the algarve as quick as possible!!
