Hi Folks

Does anyone know what make of push-fit plumbing is uses on 2006 Bavaria's.

I have a leaking coupling and want to replace at no boaty cost.....

Thanks

I would use Speedfit instead http://www.jgspeedfit.com/Home/Products/Plumbing-Fittings/10mm,-15mm,-22mm---28mm-Sizes.aspx available from Screwfix, Wickes, just about any plumbers' merchant.
Much better quality and compatible.
If you have to change any pipe i would also use speedfit (or equivalent make) pipe especially on hot plumbing. The Whale rubbish (unreinforced, polypropylene I think) is only rated for 65 degrees and bursts if it gets too hot. My mate's Bav had a tankful of boiling water in the bilges when the thermostat stuck!

Thanks very much guys.

As expected the Whale bits have a long lead time. I tried to mate the existing Whale stuff with another make of push-fit but of course that did not work.... so not to replace the whole gubbins withanother make...

Ho hum

I don't understand that. When the pipe burst on my mate's 2006 Bav I patched it with Speedfit, completely compatible. The pipe OD is the same.

Hi Plevier

The issue in my case is not with the pipe, but with two stem-T's that plug together, and then these plug into a 1/2" connector to attach to the Hot water cylinder.

The joint between one of the Stem T's and the 1/2" coupler is knackered. I have a new Speedfit coupler but I cannot get the joint between the Whale T and the coupler to seal. I believe this to be because the Whale devices have some groves to enable better locking with other Whale pieces. Sadly this does not appear to allow a nice seal between Whale bits and SpeedFit bits.

It is no great shakes though because I can make up a new set of T's and coupler using all SpeedFit and that should then just connect up to the existing pipework. I hope so anyway, will find out later tonight.... If anyone in Gosport hears cussing tonight they will know that my plan did not work.

OK that sounds familiar.
I do believe you are better off replacing with Speedfit or similar. If you're putting any Speedfit pipe in do use the supporting inserts at joints.
