Starting to narrow down the boats we're interested in as a replacement for the Rinker and the Bavaria 32 HT or possibly the 35 HT have caught our eye... a little out of range of our budget at present but may stretch to one if opinions are positive and a good deal materialises over the winter.. seen them with KADs fitted but also D series diesels too and presume the consensus would be to go for the newer engine... are there any known issues with these boats in general? I read they're hard to sell on, is that correct or is the hardtop variant well sought after? any advce welcomed to keep them on this list or strike them off.

cheers Gary

Hi Gary , i think Bavarias are good value , ie what you are paying for the amount of berths / length / engines etc by comparison with other makes leaves more money for diesel :D . The only problems i had with my old bav 30 was with part of the swim platform teak lifting ( easy fix ) and usual probs with DPH drive ( rams and hoses ) . IMHO they are a good sea boat and we had great fun with ours .

Swings and roundabouts with the engines Kads are more smoky than D series and need valve adjustment ( D series has hydraulic lifters ) . Sold ours quite quickly , but if you buy right you will be able to sell easily as well . best of luck with your search , i have got the MBM mag with the report on the 2 Bav 34s comparison somewhere if you want it .

Hi
I have just purchased a bavaria 37HT and owned a fairline before this one and cant say enough how impressed I am with it.
real wood inside not caravan stuff like one big brittish boat maker uses, fit and finish not quite as good as the fairline or a princess but up on sealine. Engine room well fitted out and no rattles when out and about and lots of storage.
Resale should be good enough with the hard top as thats the way the big 4 have gone now but may struggle with the sports models.
cheers Barry

thanks, that sounds promising.. I've had a look at the sport version and have dropped them off the list for the reason stated... on the lookout for a HT to have a wander around next.. thanks for the reply:cool:

Only 2 things I don't like about the bavarias of this era.
The bathing platform has enclosed sides so getting off to an alongside berth is tricky.
And they are very noisy.
The latter is fixable or may have already been done.

Gary have you checked the cabin height of the Bavaria? Admittedly, I think we looked around a 28' or 30' model a while ago and I couldn't stand upright inside. The American boats tend to be quite generous height wise inside. Have you thought of looking at a larger Rinker (the 320 is nice), or a Monterey 315?

Baz

We have a 37 open on brokerage with us at the moment. I am equally impressed with the overall feel.
The boat is a little highly priced, but someone will steal her with a cheeky offer... I know as one is in at the moment which is being seriously considered by the vendor.

Just to let you know the bavaria 37 has masses of head room im over 6.6" tall and have head room in the saloon but not the master.
