E40fly

I am keen to learn from others who have taken their (semi) displacement yacht on longer sea-crossings
I bought our Bavaria E40Fly last August from Clipper Marine in Southampton and travelled 362nm across the channel, French, Belgium and Dutch coast to Sneek, north of The Netherlands
We had a fairly calm crossing with maybe 15knots wind yet current at times was strong and max 4kn against. Overall the 12tonne E40Fly was very easy to handle and we never felt uncomfortable. I am keen to test in more challenging conditions; Hence keen to learn what the limits might be
Our Bavaria E40Fly is the very same yacht tested in MBY July 2017 and I wrote an article on the crossing in MBY March 2018
Glad we have the most powerfull VP D4-300 engine; topspeed with some help from current was 17.6kn, realistically you cruise at 8kn and keep fuel efficiency above 4mpg. With 540litres diesel, at 1,600rpm we cruise some 1,000km max
Please let me know your experiences taking a (semi) displacement yacht to sea
