I have the above,2006 . Even if yours isn't the same size or age, it will be similar. I have 2 gripes. One concerns the transom seat. If you remove it, where do you put it? I'd like to make it hinge but it's not as simple as it looks. It's a pain.
The other is the size of the gas locker. It only holds a tiny canister.. It's useless for cruising. There's no point in reinventing the wheel if some of you present or previous owners have already found the answer. Any good ideas please?
Thanks. Alan

Daft piece of design having the seat removable - but shared by many other boats. Safety line attached is first priority, although does not solve the stowage problem. My earlier 37 had a hinge down seat - much better. Never found a solution to the gas problem as there is nowhere else to put a drained locker, so just kept the spare bottle in the cockpit locker which is sealed from the boat, but not drained. Not ideal but is what everybody else seems to do.

Being able to moor stern to and remove seat is great , i put mine on the aft quarter out the way , on its long tether , i also remove the wheel and tie to pushpit , would love a bigger locker that would hold calor gas rather than the extortionate camping gaz

As other have said, attach the seat to the boat, because otherwise one day is will go splash and Bavaria charge LOTS for a new one.

As far as the gas bottle situation is concerned, it's a bit rubbish I agree. My cockpit lockers aren't even very deep, so I'm restricted to the 4.5Kg bottles.

I keep my spare bottles in the sail locker (Bavaria 40 Ocean). It's sealed from the rest of the boat, waterproof but not vented.

As for the cockpit seat, my solution was to buy a centre cockpit Bavaria ;-) Whatever you do, do tie it on with a bit of string. I know another B39C owner who is on his third seat. Charter boat - people open the thing at sea and then notice it does not float. He's attached it now :)

As pvb pointed out, more advice available at the Bavaria forums: http://www.bavariayacht.info/
