Bavaria 33

Hi,

I am interested in purchasing a new Bavaria 33 either in the Uk or Europe. I would appreciate any comments / feedback on the Bavaria range - I appreciate it is a bit early to comment on the 33 as it is a new model!
Also if you have any comments on where to purchase such a boat at a good price. I have been looking at Opalmarine however have not seen good discounts...yet!

Also if there are any tips on purchasing in Europe it would be appreciated.

Check out the VAT in different countries; in Spain it used to be 17.5% as against 20% in Italy. Generally you can buy a boat in any EC country and have it delivered where you like (you pay for the delivery in any case). The only issue that I can see is the agent from whom you buy it having someone in the country of delivery who will prepare the boat for him/you. For instance there is at least one Beneteau dealer in the UK who will arrange delivery of the boat to the Med, and even go down there himself to supervise the preparation and then hand the boat over to the customer.

So, the deciding factor may be where you can pay the least VAT, and who is offering good finance deals (in France and Italy you can obtain finance at more or less zero cost to you).

Simply log into the Bavaria web site and get a listing of the European agents - e-mail them your requirements and get their best price. Pay vat on importing into the uk. Do same for transporters. Typical discount at present seems to be 6%.
Simple process - any queries tele. VAT office - very helpful - just remember it no big deal buying anything within the EC.
