Appreciate this will generate a lot of differing views but...
We are looking to upgrade from our Leader 805. Have loved the Jeanneau but the lack of a radar arch make the canopy very difficult to live with and we would also like a little extra accommodation without blowing the berthing budget. We are rather struck with the Fairline Targa 29 and there are several on the market with the correct spec (kad 32's, bow thruster etc) for around £50000. We have also been looking at the Bavaria 29 Sport which, on paper does everything the Fairline does but for £50K we can get a 2006 boat with D3's and the same money for a Fairline will only get us in to something from the late 90's. I am aware that the build quality of the Fairline is superior but for the same cost the engines will be almost 10 years older...
Any views appreciated because at the moment my heart is saying Fairline and my head is telling me to go with the Bavaria!
(Should also mention that the boat will mainly be used on the Solent and I don't tend to go out out in force ridiculous conditions)
Cheers
Paul
