I intend to add a second battery and relocate them to underneath the quarter berth. So got one of them plastic boxes from caravan shop but too tall and berth panels won't sit down proper. OK, I'll glass and frame up some supports and retainers and bolt battens over the top. Just thought I'd check on how advisable to have batteries completely boxed in and why ? Any comments welcome.

Don't recall such a discussion and a search is a bit of a laugh isn't it. So if anyone has any comments I'd be grateful.

Simply put you can make a 'sealed compartment for batteries but it must be vented, ideally to outside, as gassess released by batteries can be explosive, piosonouse and explosive (especially if they develope a fault or short). There ia also some fire risk so you may want to add some sheilding athough it might depend on who's bunk it is!

Quite! It's not "a laugh" at all and if you use the site facilities properly its easy. Read the thread and it will answer your questions. You can't expect everyone to repeat the whole conversation just for you!

Touched a nerve there then. Thanks for the link to the other poster. As to the "laugh" there have been many recent posts saying how hopeless the search facility now is but "You can't expect everyone to repeat the whole conversation just for you!". Perhaps the admin techies have made it work again and I missed the announcement.
