Battery size for Volo 2040 55hp engine

Any one out there answer this question. At the moment have a 110 Ahr leisure battery installed. Used to work but is now knacked. Need a best size as regards cold crank current and Ahr

I think part of the problem is in the 'leisure' battery that you have used. We have a 2040 and assuming you are just using it for starting any battery suitable for starting a medium sized car diesel engine would be fine.

Leisure batteries often don't survive the cold cranking currents involved in starting a diesel engine as they are designed for longer periods of slow discharge.

Have a look at the dedicated engine start batteries such as Red Flash or Odyssey. They are small, sealed and designed for high CCA applications.

Is there a 55hp version of the Volvo 2040? I thought it was 40hp.
