I have 3 batteries in my boat. The left one is identified as the Service Battery to which a Gunson automatic battery charger is connected. The positve terminals of the centre battery (No1) and the right hand battery (No2) are connected to a battery selector switch. The fridge is connected to the right hand battery and not the service battery, is this correct.

I am purchasing a boat with 2 batteries and the normal selector switch - does any one have a simple wiring diagram, of how it all goes together and connects to alternator etc

Here's the simplest and best way to do it.
Mark your batteries 1 2 3 etc
run bat 1 to position 1 on selector switch
run bat 2 to position 2 on selector switch
run bat 3 to position 2 on selector switch
On the output + of the selector switch run your fridge ( through suitable fuse ) and fit your +charge wire from auto charger .
We then have the following
pos 1 = battery 1 = starter batt = charged from engine when running and auto charge when turned on.
pos 2 = battery 2 ( or Batts 2 + 3 ) house batteries charged from auto charger when turned on and engine when running.
Pos All = bateries 1+2+3 all charged from engine when running and auto cherger when turned on.
I hope this makes sense to you. It works for me.
Good Luck
Ray Jones.
