Battery question

I hijacked the wrong thread, it was meant to be this one.

Anyway thanks VicS I think I will go for the redflash 1100 to be safe.

The Redflash 1100 is only a 500 CCA battery too. Don't fall into the trap of believing that the numbers relate to the CCA or of not realising that some suppliers quote the Max discharge current as CCA ( http://www.dmstech.co.uk/red-flash/red-flash-high-rate/ )

The specs to read are those from DMS Technologies themselves on this data sheet

You could also look at the optima range of batteries. I have the redtop 4.2, CCA 1000, which starts my Perkins 4108 (49HP) no problems and is compatible with a wet acid charging regime (my analysis, not claimed by optima), but designed to be replacement starter batteries on cars, so I guess you would expect that. Pricey, but appears to be good.

Thanks, I have read those.

My thought process for going for the Redflash 1100 is not for technical reasons, because I don't have any.
It has been guided by the people on here who say they are starting larger engines than mine with no problems.
