Can anyone give me any information on my battery lights ?
I've got a Falcon 275 with twin volvo diesel's (150hp AD31) and when I turn the ignition on the lights come on as they should and when I start the engines the lights go out... so far so good, but after running for a while they start to flash ! Does this mean there's something wrong or does it mean that the batterys are fully charged ?
She has three battery's and the Sterling prodigital charger is always connected when shes in the marina.
If its a problem does anyone have the answer ? Ta....

Do they do this on both engines? I would assume the lights are for oil pressure and charging that go off after starting to show all is well. if a light came on It could be to indicate charging fault or low oil pressure but if both come on thats a coincidence and if all come on for both engines to much of a coincidence. I would suspect wiring fault. But im no expert. Others better qualified will soon come along.

No it's not the oil lights, Just the battery lights and they dont just come on, which I would understand to mean the battery wern't charging, they start flashing ?
Oil pressure guages tell me thats OK and the ammeters show 13 to 14 volts.
Both the battery lights flash but they dont start at the same time, also if I drop the engines to tickover they go out !

Do you have voltmeters rather than ammeters? Sometimes you get the warning light on when the alternator produces too high a voltage. 13-14V would be about right though.
