Hi again all
Had this problem for a while but it's now top of the list of things to fix
When ever we hit a bump (originally a big one but now just your average bit of a swell) my battery gauge beeps and I think resets itself (volts fall to zero)
Originally it was suggested perhaps things were knocking into the isolators but this definitely isn't it
Any ideas?
Will it be damaging the alternators / batteries to proceed with the issue ?
Thanks
Seb

Well I would start at the bat terminals 1st ,as apposed ripping up the control panal .
Reason -the posts on the bat (s) have a v slight taper say 3 degrees ? So with vibrations work loose ish 1st then kinda corrode ,work more loose as time goes by -leading to a voltage drop ,which after a timely bump just seems to get worse .

These are the symptoms you describe ?

They may look fine and indeed when handled feel fine .All the same take a size 10 spanner loosen them off remove ,emery paper gently the post and the inside of the clamp .
Refit push down as hard as you can tighten v tight the retaining bolt ,then a liberal slop of Vaseline to kinda protect from the sea air ,
Ideally this should be done every year @ the "annual " lifts/engine service etc .

Just do that 1st then sea trail .
If prob still persists follow the leads through ck every conection pay particular attention to the engine -ve earth strap ( they all should has one -some are isolated like MAN ,they have no earth strap as you have not stated which engines you have )

Last port of call answering your Q is the back of the said dial (s) .-here they ver d Gris on the spades knackers ?This knackers instruments reading .Or just plane loose ?
