Looking for some advice on battery selection and advice from any experts out there. Current set up 440amp/hr house battery’ bank, seperate up front battery 110a/hr for bowthruster and windlass, but connected to house bank, so seen as part of house bank, and engine start battery with VSR separating house and engine battery. All charging by solar, wind and shore based Stirling battery charger. All batteries are a standard lead acid leisure battery, have worked and lasted 6 years.
Looking to replace house bank with Trojan's, a new 110a/hr Leisure battery for the up front battery and keep connected to the Trojan's for charging and house bank capacity.
Question is will the set up work as my understanding is Trojan's cannot take any cranking current and if any cranking current gets past the up front battery the Trojan's will see that current and from what I've been told could fxxk up the Trojan's. Would mixing different batteries types cause any charging issues. Not looking to put isolator between Trojan's and up front battery as will forget to turnon/off at some point
Or just keep with what I've got but replace all with vatra's
Sorry if long post and hope it makes sense to someone.
