I'm looking at buying a mains battery charger at the Boat Show and the Mastervolt SMART series (12v 25A) in particular. Can anyone recommend them?

Also, I have a shorepower connection already - presumably its a simple matter to hook up the charger to the batteries and the shore power?

Don't know the Master volt charger - but look at the Sterling line - I have one and its good.

Installation - should be simple - I think it should have its own circuit (and fuse) off your AC circuit.

I fitted a Mastervolt battery charger last Summer.
I used the 24/25 model as I have a 24 volt system.

Its worked perfectly and was simple to fit but then I was replacing an older different make so the previous wires/connections were in place.

regards,

Duke.

Very happy with my 50 amp sterling. I wired the mains cable to a regular fused three pin plug and installed a dedicated mains socket (also fused) and it seems to work really well

BTW many thanks to all those that advised on the installation!

regards,

Nick

Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.

Master volt gear is good quality, but not the cheapest.

best regards
