What are the best Batteries to buy for Starting and for Domestic. Also what am I likely to pay for these. Is there a middle of the road type option which gives me a good battery without spending a fortune?

I bought a set (16) delphi freedom, very good batteries at a reasonable price, I use them for both starting and domestic. They are duak purpose, I dont discharge my domestics more than 50%, which is why I have a battery condition, consumption (AH) monitor, which I would reccomend. A sterling one as a matter of fact. Hope this is of some use.

My local caravan shop are doing 110 A/H deep cycle batteries at £50 each - which is pretty competitive. Engine start will totally depend on how many CCA's are required for your engine start - best place for me is my local Macro as last battery for my Omega was £24!

I understand that tipping all the distilled water out of a new battery and then filling it with Soltron can nearly double the life of your average battery. Don't forget to keep topping up with more Soltron at regular intervals. If you wish to extend the life of your existing batteries simply add a double dose of Soltron to the current solution and then keep topping up with Soltron at regular intervals. Along with extending the life of your batteries you can expect better efficiency from your batteries and they will magically knock all corrosion of any connections. Use of Soltron will also reduce the emission of harmfull gases eminating from your batteries.

Bought two new ones today sorted it through FIL company so got them really cheap, one starting battery and one leisure battery. Cant believe the price, off to fit them later.
