I've just purchased a large (50cm x 20cm x 25cm) lorry battery !! 1200 Cold Cranking Amps !!
I've fitted it in parallel to my existing house battery.
It cost £90.
My kids at the minute are hammering it with a 500W inverter, TV and play station !!
Do you think it will cope ?
I will not let my bat voltage drop below 11.8 V
Do you think I should have spent 4 times the amount on a (Deep Cycle ) ??

1200 CCA is only important for starting; it gives you no measure of its capacity which is measured in Amp Hours (Ah or AH).
A 500W inverter fully loaded will draw around 45Amps or 45AH each hour its run; allow for 50% discharge of your battery & this will tell you how long it will last before needing recharging. Tho' you PS & TV probably wont fully load so you should have longer.
Deep cycle allows you to go lower than 11.5V without bu%%ering the plates. These leisure batteries usually cost £90 ish for 110AH.

What A/hrs ? Is it the type designed to also operate tail lifts ? or just a Heavy Duty Truck battery ?

If it is designed to operate tail lifts and start engine - then it will have very good charge / discharge capability .... along with good a/hrs ...
