Just heading down to boat to put on extra lines.....forecast here at Troon for SW wind to touch 90mph tonight.....and that's not all, they say it may snow too...watch this space, will reort back tommorow if we are still here.

Paul.

Auch, it's just a wee blow. Once cycled to work in Auld Reekie when it was blowing 100mph, saw a woman blown off a bridge - she only just managed to save herself. It's only southerners who trouble themselves with the wind.

Try coming down here to SW of Ireland. We have had 20 days since 21st October with winds in excess of 44 knots! On 27/10/04 we had a gust of 89 knots, and a recently as last tuesday the 4th Jan 60 knots.

Has been about the same here for the past 3 weeks, 45kts has been the norm but looks like tonight may prove a tad interesting, time will only tell!!

Note: This is the most recent gale warning received from the Met Office. Previous gale warnings for other areas may still be in force. Please refer to other sources, including Coast Radio, NAVTEX and Coastguards, for more complete information.

I've just got back from walking the dog and was more than a little worried when I had to walk under a huge oak tree just as the wind was whipping up a fair bit of debris. Think there may be a few of you having a sleepless night tonight.
Forecast suggests gusts of up to 68 knots in the Thames Estuary early tomorrow. Fingers crossed for everybody.
