Not having a sugar scoop stern, looking at some assistance should me or SWIMBO falls into the briney. I fancy the idea of a small platform of approx 60cm wide by about 30cm deep with teak slats or similar. Any one retro fitted and or found someone in the Solent area that didn't want silly amounts of money?

I'm in similar position having a Bowman 26 (like a little bit bigger Folkboat) There is another Bowman in the Club who has secured 3 horizontal rails to the transom, they look like grab rails but deeper & appear to give plenty room for feet. I cannot see how I would fit a platform, even one so small, but believe that the rails are a distinct possibility. I am trying to see the other owner to find out if he has used them in anger, but we never seem to be in the marina at same time. If I get any info I'll restart the thread. Meantime best of luck, hope you get some other suggestions.

I'm playing with designs which have a stainless steel tube bent in a rectangle fitted with two large hinges near the bottom of the transom. The rectangle to be filled with teak slats and a further hinged section hanging off the other long edge to act as an additional step when the platform is lowered.

Using two stainless steel wires and terminals from my old rigging to support the platform from near the top of the transom. Still refining the design to cope with the folding ladder at the back.
