A new Sealine S38 Open has just turned up on our jetty. SWMBO is having a nosey around it and she decides that she likes the lights on the bathing platform. They appear to be a blue kind of light, very small -they could be fiber optic.

Does anyone know exactly what they are, where or if i can buy some to retrofit to my boat ?

Thanks

Sounds like the things boy racers fit to their cars these days, particularly over the washer outlets on the bonnet.

Available from all good Halfords (and Maplin I think).

Sure they do Tom.

BTW, spotted a sister ship of yours the other week.......

Probably 'white' leds [they have a blueish tinge]; try index marine or whitelightled[s?].com

I saw exactly the same thing on a Targa 37 a couple of weeks ago. Small blue halogen lights at floor level. Very effective. Not sure who supplies them but they are definitely on my shopping list.....
Cheers

the ones i have seen and will be fitting to my zingaro when i eventually recieve her are a series of blue leds in a cluster (8 i think) encased in what looks like a downlighter, riverisland the clothes shop use the same ones in their shop floors.

i bought them from focus diy, a set of 3 clusters for 12v usage were £15ish

I have a number of these fitted on my F43, up the flybridge steps, bathing platform etc. interestingly also ordered by the good lady, must be a woman thing. Anyway I suggest you call Sealine Sales on the Hamble, (Swanwick), as I know they fitted them on mine as a retro fit, they are usually very helpful and will undoubtedly point you in the right direction. They do look blooming good I have to say!

I fitted 4 of these little lights to my boat a couple of weeks ago. I got them from a local car accessories shop. 3mm ultra-white LEDs - about £7.95 each. Very bright with a blue tinge. I like these 'cos you only need to drill a 4mm hole in your boat - better than cutting a big slot for the other type.

Exactly the same as Tom's excepting one huge difference.....
The one in the photo is clean and isn't covered in empty beer cans

Thanks for everyones help, I have rung around and most of these appear to be made by ring - they are just standard bits of car kit. As usual the boat firms are charging a lot more, prices ranged up to £40 a set for the same lights. Now wheres my nearest Halfords !!
