Hi folks,

Can you recommend a cheap bedding compound for wood on wood... is wet paint enough ?

Also, any tips on removing old treadmaster stuck on coachroof and old epoxied matting on top of plywood deck ?

many thanks

Yes, matter of fact, I will, because once or twice I have dismantled something and found white lead putty still good in the join! But red lead putty is just as good!

Is the treadmaster (and ply underneath) in good enough shape to repaint rather than remove?

It is the devil to remove, broad chisel and flat scraper will do it with a lot of work for small areas, or you could use an electric planer. Belt sanders will do it but you will get through a lot of belts so I would use the planer and finish with a belt sander.

Same approach would remove the epoxy and cloth aswell.

Good luck.

Thanks for your excellent responses....I will now join those lieing awake at night worrying over white vs red lead putty ! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
