I foolishly stepped back onto the lever of a double rope clutch on the coachroof and snapped it off. Does anybody know if these things are repairable? I'm assuming that one can grind off the end of the spindle and drive it out to replace the lever. It would then be necessary to peen over the end of a new spindle. I've contacted Barton Marine but am waiting for a response. I guess they would prefer to sell a replacement double rope clutch. Any suggestions?

Lewmar post disassembly and repair notes on the web for theirs.

Done this on a previous boat.
Only option in the short term was to drill into both the broken and retained bits, insert a stainless pin ( although a cut of self tapper would do) and apply Araldite epoxy.
worked ok until the closed season when I replaced with the handle from an old one that had a very worn brass jammer.
Your quite right about file / grind off the end of the pin and drive out; replace with a ling bolt or stainless screwed rod.
