Barrel of Lewmar winches

The barrels of my lewmar winches are getting less ‘grippy’.

One solution is an extra turn of the line.

Does anyone have a better solution, I’d love to hear from you.

Are your sheets old and stiff perhaps?

Depends on material. If chrome plated bronze they can be knurled and rechromed.

Ropes flexible and youngish. Halyard brand new.
No not chromed.
