Went into the Bargee in Newport at the top of the Medina. Can get there at the top of the tide but then your there till the tide lets you out again. Good atmosphere and some good live music and you can moor almost in the beer garden.

Wha'dya mean "I'm always playing with this engine" its the only way to get it to run!

Seconded ..... this is where we bilge-keelers have advantage ...

The mooring fee is Council rate - nice
Showers and toilets are clean and well kept - nice
HM and Asst. HM are excellent people and very helpful every time I've been there - even to sorting me an engineer for my wayward diesel engine ! - nice
Town is good with only a short walk into centre and markets etc. - nice

PLUS you have about 5 pubs on top of you with the pub direct across the water from pontoons serving good portions and good quality.

Gets my thumbs up generally .. Newport, friendly and only restriction is the tide ... (Fins can moor alongside town wall with fender boards etc. supplied etc.)

Do you mean The Bargemans Rest? If so, you have a funny idea of what constitutes a good pub!
