Does anyone know if the barge at Bursledon (I think), selling secondhand gear is still up and running? It's a few years since I have been down that way.

Anyone know if they related to Thomas Foulkes & Son who used to have a marvelous chandlery underneath the railway arches at Leytonstone?

Barge was owned by Foulkes who also owned Aladdin's cave Chandlery. Had a catalogue from Force 4 chandlers on Saturday who say they have taken over Aladdin at Swanwick Marina, Bridge Rd Bursledon, and at Hamble Point and Satchell Lane ,Hamble, but don't know if the barge was part of the takeover.
The Barge has never been cheap but if you find the obsolete or S/hand part then its worth it.

I looked for T Foulkes a few years ago as we used to buy lots of stuff from in the 60's. Gone the way of the whole ethic of real PBO types. I would be interested if the barge was related, but doubt it. One of our regular purchases was parachute static lines for toe-straps and D rubber section for trailer chocks. Must go and rest as feeling old with mention of them /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
