If you are looking for a folding cockpit table - go to IKEA. They have just the thing which is an almost exact copy of the expensive ones you see in chandlers. OK its not teak but it is walnut - cost just £19 and its code name is HOL.

It just can't be walnut, can it? The price of walnut makes teak seem like orange boxes. Hey ho, for £19 it's worth a punt for a big enough cockpit. Won't fix my leak though.

Another example of marine tag adding 200% to the price tag. My Saloon table came from B&Q and is better quality and looks than the heavyweight 'marine' table it replaced.

Agreed. Most of the interior of my C&N 1960s vintage is solid teak. I shudder to think what it would cost to replace

Whist visiting Christchurch, Hants, last year I visited the large 'cheapo' shop on the corner at the river end of the main street and I found a hardwood(unknown) fold-up teak lookalike table which is perfect for 2 in the cockpit. £25. So good I went back and got another for the patio!.

So what if its MDF ..... run a film of epoxy around the edges and seal up where water could get in and it'll last longer ...

But it\'s full of holes

Sure it looks kind of nautical but why would you want a cockpit table with holes that your salt and pepper will fall through?
