Hi all

Just wondering if anyone had experience or any information on chartering a boat in the Caribbean for 2 months? Currently looking at the option from mid Dec 2007 to mid Feb 2008.

Have only been able to find co's that do it for up to 2 weeks at prices you would not want to multiply by 4 /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif !!!!!!!

Any ideas or info to share greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I think that Barefoot Yachts in St Vincent usually work out a bit less expensive than Sunsail or The Moorings, although their rates are still quite high in winter time - have a look at http://www.barefootyachts.com/html/yachts.htm

There are a couple of small outfits in Bequia and St Vincent with just one or two boats for hire, however I doubt that they would be significantly less than Barefoot.
However it could be worth trying to negotiate a significant discount as you would like a boat for quite a long time.

Good thinking! Did consider it, but would rely on being able to buy and sell the boat quickly - not something that happens, I have learnt from painful experience.

I am making some good progress in finding a charter boat for "relatively" good money.

Well so far so good, still trying to sort out all of the logistics etc. It looks like around US$14k for 2 months on a boat of around 34ft.
As soon as I have some more info I'll let you know.

Cheers
