We are considering bareboat charter in Croatia either last week in July or first week in August, can any forumites recommend a good charter company and does it get very busy during these weeks. Any other tips welcome. Thanks in advance.

It gets horrendously crowded during that time - how much depends on how far south you go with Split to Dubrovnik having the highest concentration.

The burgeoning charter fleets are busy throughout the summer and have arguably reached saturation but from mid-July the Italians start to flock over like an amada, culminating in a peak through all of August.

Best periods are June and September, with the former generally having the best winds.

We can recommend Dalmatia Charter - we chartered with them twice and received excellent service and value. It was difficult to get into the popular marinas and anchorages in August and finding a spot for the night can dominate the day. The weather can be lively too. But still very well worth it.
