Hi All!

We've just booked a 42' Lagoon 42 (2019) for a two week bareboat charter in Greece for next September.
Shocked to see that the damage deposit will be €6,000!
We've booked through Easy Sailing (www.easysailing.gr).
Anyone else seeing such high deposits being asked?

Of course, we intend to insure this, but it will cost about €550.

Policy excesses for bareboat charter companies have gone up considerably in the last few years (insurers trying to recover from recent events in the Caribbean) but 6k sounds steep.

One company in the Ionian, Greece doesn't give the offer of a security deposit and includes the damage waiver in the charter fee, so no hassle and no surprises once booked.
