We were boarded and inspected in France, where they are just as anal about certification as the Spanish.

Production of Yacht Part 1 Registration Certificate, Insurance Certificate and a polite "Professional certification is not needed on a British-Flagged vessel" in rudimentary French, together with a smile and a cold drink for the "Douanier" resulted in a friendly farewell.

We shall see if the visits get further North than Vell.....wer're about 10nm away!!

Just received my letter, sent back a note saying I think it's for Spanish registered yachts, however they can inspect my boat, But, I dont have a ICC or anything else, never needed it, never been asked for it in 25 years! I do have insurance, radio licence etc. and my vessel is seaworthy, however I'm deemed not to be I guess! So I guess it's the clink for me and boat impounded probably! I'll probaly be working when they come round anyway! Belinda can talk to them.

Re: Guardia Civil

..a very good point. I believe arguing with Guardia Civil cost Magnum 5000Euro! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I think it is just barcelonas turn. In 2003 we were passing Port Olympique and got pulled in by the Guardia Civil. Very nice after we gave all documents but scary at time!

Cheers
