Hi in anticipation and with bated breath we wait for the weather forcast for next w/e.At the mo i have conflicting reports. This morning the Beeb suggested that there will be a high giving good weather but theres no sign of that on the synoptic charts ive seen.
Can anyone enlighten us please?

BTW The inshore forcast for last sat said nothing about the 38kn (F8) gusts we had on the east coast! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

They cant get it right 10 hrs in advance so why do you expect an accurate forecast a week ahead.

Sunday the forecast was 16-18 knots max, yet I had apparent winds of over 30 knots in mid afternoon. - almost forced me to reef! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif still 10 knots at 40degrees apparent was quite fun.

Ok Ill come clean, my motive is financial.
The marina i wish to visit want a deposit to secure a berth and i know that they are busy over this bank hol w/e but the entrance is not good in a blow. Now not being much of a gambler (I hate , loathe and detest loosing money through betting and to a Marina to boot !) i want to hedge my bet./forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
look like i am gonna have to put on my poker face and wait.

Just had a look on the local site (Sheerness) and they're giving 26c and a 7 mph wind from the south for Friday.
Am I having a vision, can it be true that summer is coming?

That will be from the new BBC site then - Its showing Gosport showing Friday as very hot with unbroken sun, now look at another weather site UKWeather.com and they are showing Friday as showers and only 21 degrees

I think they make it up, weathermen are as bad as politicians

I'm really grumpy today as I was planning a trip to Chebourg on Friday and I have just discovered my SSR expired in March.

Re: SSR

It's only Monday - ask nicely ('phone then cheque in post today) and I am sure you will be able to get one sorted; they turned a replacement round for me in less time than that................ /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I realise the weather in the lakes is of no interest to you, BUT amongst several weather forecasts I have bookmarked This One gives very accurate wind speed forecasts. They always seem a bit strong, but the predicted peak gusts are very accurate.
They will no doubt do forecasts for your area if you access them via the link under the header.
On the other hand their predictions for sunshine and rain do turn out to be pessemistic.
