Bamboo Spars

Can anyone tell me from where I might obtain (in the U.K.) a suitable Bamboo pole to use as a spinnaker pole. It needs to be at least 16 feet long and I imagine on average a couple of inches in diameter. Any advice on using Bamboo as a spar also gratefully recieved.

I don't know of anywhere, but I have been impressed by the bamboo scaffold poles used in Hong Kong. It would be possible to import a 40ft container of them, but this would cost a good deal, and how many people would want one?
