I've been looking today at the Lewmar Delta anchor and found alongside it a very similar 'same weight and dimensions' Bainbridge D-Style galvanised unit - but at half the price.

The Lewmar product is, according to their website, made 'from high-grade manganese steel for maximum tensile strength'. The Bainbridge online catalogue mentions only 'galvanised'.

Any knowledge out there of the steel spec of the Bainbridge product and/or any knowledge of its performance, strengths and weaknesses?

Despite the advertising hype, I think you get what you pay for.

As you know, with anchors, it not just the material, it is also the weight distribution and subtle variations in the geometry of the (in this case) fabrication.
