Yesterday evening, I passed several very pleasant hours with a chap who moors next to my boat in her new home...

All was well, and interesting conversation on many topics flowed, until...

...until he revealed himself to be a bagpipe player.

Could the panel advise as to the appropriate course of action, upon discovering that a guest on board is a practitioner of this darkest of arts?

Buy a large bongo type drum and join him every time he fires up his pipes.

Something like this one, player properly, will leave a monotonous ring in his ears.

At the start of ARC 2001 there was a piper playing on the foredeck of one of the entrants. As he came into Rodney Bay 18 days later he was STILL PLAYING.

I never did find out what effect it had on the rest of the crew. If anyone knows of an Ovni called Little Wing maybe they can enlighten us.
