Just returned from putting the boat to bed in Cagliari.
She will stay in the water over winter.
Am considering antifoul for next year, Yard wants
750 euros to lift out 800 to antifoul and 100 to clean/treat prop. There is no option to DIY the antifoul.
The hull seems pretty clean, a little growth at water line and light slime elsewhere. The prop is a different matter there are loads of crustaceans, I started up and in gear a lot of the beasts where thrown off but I could not get the revs up even to cruising speed.
Would it be a reasonable option to use a diver next spring to just scrape off the prop and delay lift out for a year?
I am considering doing a diving course this winter just in case I want to do that sort of job ( and because the boss lady wont allow me to that sort of thing unless trained!)
I noticed that the little blighters were trying to get up various ‘spouts’ notably the deck drain outlets and no doubt the Heads in and out and possibly the engine inlet ( I can rod that through).
Can anything be poured down these holes which will make them ‘let go’ or is this another diving job?
Will appreciate the usual good advice.
