I do not know if this is right. But got told when you refuel your boat, its best to go to a place where they replenish there fuel often as it can go OFF if lying there in tanks for some time.

I do not know if this was just for diesel or unleaded, or is it complete rubbish. Just want to check

For diesel, the fact that the diesel is changed in the tanks regularly, means less chance of diesel bug. Petrol most certainly does go "off" so it is also better to go to a place where the fuel changed often.

Seeing as your dragging up all these posts regarding dirty diesel and the posts being years and years old begs the question.....

Are you offering a service?

He is a web designer and one of his recent projects was "diesel polishing" (see https://www.facebook.com/theacidfrog?filter=3), so it looks like he is just wanting to encourage as many hits as possible on his client's site to get them to the top of Google so that he can say that he has done a fantastic job for them. The question is whether this contravenes forum rules.

In any case, all his posts seem to have been removed now, so that probably answers my question.

Petrol takes a long time to go "off" if stored underground in vented tanks at moderate temperatures.
But, if cooked in an overground tank, the more volatile components will evaporate first, which is not a good thing.
Diesel, if kept water and bug-free should last much longer.
