Hi All,
I must have put on some bad fuel, it has caused the filters to block etc, I have been looking at a (i think) racor funnel with a built in water trap and sediment bowel, I intend to filter all fuel I take on from now on. Has anybody used one and does it make filling up really slow, the one I am looking at says 19 l/min, not sure if it will be a pain when filling up.
But at the cost of diesel now its best to make sure its good to start with IMHO.

its a very good idea, but the man at the pump might be a bit narked with time taken as it does slow the process down. YOu also end up with a smelly funnel you have to find a home for on board.

I have one - the smallest Racor funnel in the range. It lives in a small dedicated 'Oily stuff' bucket in the stern locker, which also contains a small funnel for engine oil, one of these, and a couple of bits of rag. I don't have a very big tank, and I fill it from a jerry can, so I don't have to worry about the filling time.

Please don't keep oily rags lying around. They can spontaneously combust and are very difficult to put out. I am a Fire Warden at work at one of the things we tried on a training course was to put out a wastebin fire which was started by an oily rag. It took four full-sized extinguishers before it went out !
